Missed Appointments and DNA’s

Every year wasted appointments cost NHS £162 million. This can cause serious delays in treatment for other patients. On average approximately 150 patients each month Did Not Attend (DNA) their appointment. This means the patient did not turn up for the appointment and did not contact the surgery in advance to cancel or change the appointment. This currently results in approximately 40 hours of wasted clinical time each month.

Please note: Each DNA is added to your file.

Please call ahead if you think you might be late or no longer want your appointment.

Do you feel frustrated when you cannot get an appointment ? Missed Appointments cost the NHS and prevent other patients from accessing the surgery

There are many ways to inform the surgery if you are unable to attend an appointment.

  1. The easiest and most convenient method to cancel a booked appointment is to send us a text message with the word CANCEL, when you receive your appointment reminder by text message.
  2. If you have access to online services, you are able to cancel your appointment via this service.
  3. You can telephone the surgery on 020 8736 7033 to inform us that you are unable to attend.
  4. You can walk-in to the surgery and notify our reception team  who will cancel or re-arrange the appointment for you.
